Monster Truck Bash

Last Sunday our Lil Man turned 3! It's hard to believe he is only 3, yet we can't believe how fast time has flown by. We love him so much and we loved celebrating his birthday.

Our weekend was a whirlwind of a weekend... but somehow by the grace of God and through the grace of my amazing Mom we whipped together a Monster Truck bash for my Lil Man. I actually spent many weeks prior to the party, planning and organizing... but as most of you would agree... there is only so much of that you can do. So since we were going to be out of town in Portland, my amazing Mom finished putting together the party food, cake and even finished off our party favors (custom made Monster Truck Sugar Cookies)... I had made the decision weeks prior that I wanted to give Monster Truck shaped sugar cookies away as party favors... and since I wanted it to be custom made... I asked Larry, who is an awesome craftsman, to make a cookie cutter. And so he did. They turned out amazing. I used my favorite sugar cookie recipe and yummy cream cheese frosting... So on Friday, my Mom and I made a test- batch to test out on the family. It was a hit!

And from there my Mom spent most of Saturday assembling the party food, finishing new batches of the sugar cookies and even baked and frosted the birthday cake so that when I returned home Sunday morning all I had to do was decorate it! Then it was party time...

Lil Man loved his Monster Truck Birthday Party! And at the end of the day... isn't that the goal to any party? It was so fun celebrating him and including everything that he loves right now... one being Gravedigger! Good times!!! Just love this little man to pieces. Can't wait to enjoy his year of being 3 with him!!!

Mother's Day 2013

Since becoming a Mommy... six years ago... I have had the privilege of enjoying one of my favorite special days six times so far... Mother's Day! I really do love it... it's a day to celebrate the best job I have ever had in my entire lifetime. Truly. I feel like I have earned the title, of Mommy, I couldn’t be more thankful for the title that I hold.

This Mother's Day was perfect in every way. We went to Church... just as we do every Sunday... but when we picked up the big kids from their Sunday School rooms... I was surprised with special little crafts they had all made just for me! And boy, were they ever so precious! They were bookmarks with their fingerprints on them... I absolutely fell in love with them... I'm always head over heals for any homemade gift from my kiddos. It's so sentimental for me. Then, after Church... we headed home for a relaxing afternoon brunch with both Grandmas and my brother and his wife. The weather was gorgeous so we spent most of the time outside... visiting, eating (big props to my amazing hubs for throwing down an awesome brunch of pulled pork, homemade potato salad, brocc salad, coleslaw and juicy watermelon... it totally rocked our socks off!) then throwing around a frisbee or two with the kiddos and our furry kiddo, Jig!

I am so blessed to be a Mommy of four little loves. I thank God everyday for His an ending blessings... I am so grateful for the life I have been given. I can not wait to spend many more Mother's Days with my wonderful family in years to come! Cheers to my AWESOME Mom, my AWESOME Grandma, my AWESOME girlfriends who are Moms and to the rest of my family who are all Moms... you deserve a TOAST! CHEERS to you! :)
