The kiddos have been so excited to dress up in their Halloween costumes... So this past weekend they got their first chance!
This will be your first sneak peek at the kiddos costumes! We sewed Jesse's {from Toy Story} chaps and western shirt... It was super easy and our little cowgirl is SO pleased with her outfit!
The ONLY pics I have from the festival are not very good at all. It was at night and just too dark!!!
The festival had a fun costume competition going on... And to our surprise, Kenzie won first prize and Ellie won second prize!!! They were so ecstatic!
Here is our costume breakdown...
Kenz is Jesse from Toy Story.
Ellie is Bullseye from Toy Story.
Brody is a Monster Truck driver.
And Riley is a Tiger. :)
More Halloween pictures coming after Wednesday! So stay tuned!!!

Field Trip to the Pumpkin Patch
Well, there's a first for everything, isn't there? And since the girlies have started Kindergarten, we knew there would be a lot of firsts for them. Last week was their first school field trip. AND... their first trip on a school bus! Wow! Two firsts in one day!
What makes me the most giddy was not only did I get to witness the firsts with my sweet girlies... but my hubs was there to witness it too! He took the afternoon off at work to surprise his girlies on their first field trip. It just makes me gush, just thinking about it. I was literally giddy the entire day. I just love when my hubs takes the day off to spend it with us. He said he was not about to miss their very first field trip, and I'm so glad he didn't.
It was so cute how the whole day went down. We started our day out just the same as we always do every week day... including Daddy heading off to work for the morning. We did our thing here at home and Daddy did his thing at work {little did the girls know that he was getting things settled at work so that he could take the rest of the day off to spend with us} So I dropped the girls off at school, and told them that the boys and I would see them in just a few short minutes {we would be meeting them at the pumpkin patch} then the boys and I headed home. And low and behold when we arrived home, Daddy was already there waiting for us. We hopped in his truck and headed to the pumpkin patch {we even had spare time to make a quick stop for some yummy hot cocoa [I have created monsters in my children, because every time we drive by ANY Dutch Bros, they exclaim... HOT CHOCOLATE!!!!???] Ummmm, yea. Whoops!} Any way... just as we were pulling into the parking lot, the bus had just parked and our girls {who were sharing a seat} were looking out the window as we drove by the bus and the look on their faces, was PRICELESS. We even watched them mouth the words... "That's Daddy!!!!" Oh, their little hearts were just tickled to pieces. It was a super fun field trip.
In a more serious note...
Sending thoughts and prayers to the East Coast tonight. We have family along the East Coast, so our hearts go out to everyone affected by this terrible storm.

On the Hunt
Spoiler alert: If you fancy Bambi, read no further.
It's not very often that I will share my hubs' hunting pictures here on our family blog. Actually, I'm not sure I ever have! And although this particular "hunt" isn't what most hunters would call EXCITING... It's very exciting for us! And for good reason. This was the very first time, ALL six of us were present while Daddy got a deer.
I didn't come from a hunting family at all. I'm not opposed to it and never have been. I just wasn't familiar with it. And since meeting my hubs, I've become very familiar with it and even have a new appreciation for the sport. There's something very historic, very old fashioned about hunting and using the meat that has been bestowed upon us.
Since becoming parents, our children are also very familiar with it, which started at a very young age. Well, after yesterday, our youngest who is six months old, was there for his first hunting experience. So as you can probably imagine, our youngsters were very excited to accompany Daddy. We don't always get the chance to go with him, but this was the perfect opportunity for the whole family to tag along.
So although it may not be a big deal to most... it's a HUGE deal to us.
Warning: Below are pictures from our recent hunting excursion. If you do not wish to see a deceased deer, you may want to skip the rest of this post.

Fall Festival
Tonight was the Fall Festival at the Girlies school.
It was a great way to celebrate the end of a great week. And, they had TONS of activities for families to do. Not only was that a blast, but it was so much fun to see the Girlies classmates there too!
They're so cute at this age. Everyone is their friend. And they get so excited when they run into a familiar face from class. I just love watching them giggle with excitement and give their friends big bear hugs! So cute!
Since Daddy could not join us, he is busy coaching an important game tonight (Go Billies!) Our most favorite Memaw came along for the festival. She helped me out big time with my four sweetie pies and made the evening at the festival run smoothly. I'm so grateful for such an awesome and fun Mom and Memaw. She loves being involved with every activity we do and jumps at any chance to help out! :) Love that!
Unfortunately I do not have very many pictures from our adventures at the festival. But I do have a few to share... And here they are!
